['kræʃɔː], Richard, englischer Dichter, * London um 1613, ✝ Loreto (Italien) 21. 8. 1649; verließ während der Religionswirren 1644 England, konvertierte in Frankreich 1645 zum Katholizismus, ging anschließend nach Italien; schrieb formal an J. Donne geschulte, ekstatische, sich in Bildfülle auflösende Liebeslyrik und religiöse Dichtung; Letztere war von der katholischen Geisteswelt beeinflusst und gilt als ein Höhepunkt des Barock in England (»Epigrammata sacra«, 1634; »Steps to the temple«, 1646, erweitert 1648).
